Searching in Nexis Uni

Nexis Uni® is designed to make searching easier and more intuitive. You can enter your search terms in the search box and run your search through all available content or use filters to restrict your search to only certain sources, jurisdictions, content types, or practice areas.

You can use plain language searches, similar to using internet search engines, or Boolean searches on the Nexis Uni service. When you run the search, the service determines to run the search as natural language or terms & connectors.

Take the following steps to create a search:

  1. Enter your terms in the search box, using plain language or Boolean operators. You can enter up to 5,000 characters in the search box which is available on the Search Home page and at the top of all of the discipline pages.
Note: As you enter terms, you will see suggested sources, documents, companies, legal phrases, and suggested questions appear under the search box.
  2. (Optional) Click the drop down arrow on the left side of the search box to select filters to apply before running your search.
  3. Click the magnifying glass to search.
