Literature Review: Finding "The Literature"

This guide discusses the format and process for writing a literature review.

Finding "The Literature"

"The Literature" refers to published scholarly works on a topic of interest. For a literature review you will want to use peer reviewed library resources. In some cases, professors will require you to only use empirical sources for a literature review. An empirical source is defined as research based on observed and measured phenomena. All empirical sources will contain a methods (or methodology) section. Always check with your professor for assignment specific requirements.
