McKee Library is excited to announce the transition to RefWorks as our bibliographic management tool. There are several reasons we have decided to transition to this tool at this time, including:
One-click exporting from hundreds of library databases
Easy collaboration of content for students and professors
Cloud-based storage that does not require a desktop download
Integration with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Users can upload any files—graphics, video, sound, etc—to existing references stored in RefWorks databases, and easily retrieve and share them
Customer service providing expert assistance for our campus community via phone, email, or online.
Below are the available resources for RefWorks:
RefWorks Research Guide: This guide includes directions on how to create an account, how to import works from Mendeley into RefWorks, and links to a series of tutorials covering all aspects of using RefWorks. The FAQ page addresses questions you might have about this transition.
Technical Support: RefWorks provides an amazing support system where they offer online assistance for any of our users who have questions or technical issues. This includes access to chat with a RefWorks representative. If you have questions or need technical support, please visit: http://southern.libguides.com/refworks/help.
As you consider transitioning from Mendeley to RefWorks, keep in mind that although the library will only be providing access and instruction to RefWorks, Mendeley is a free program. As such, your account will remain active with Mendeley as long as you would like to use the program. You can import your Mendeley library into RefWorks using these directions: https://southern.libguides.com/refworks/transition.
Please feel free to contact a research coach with any questions.
