Need help with Mendeley?

Have paper based sources (such as archival materials) you would like to include in your Mendeley library?

  • Create a digital version of your source using one of these methods:
    • Use the scan-to-email feature on a library copy machine to create a PDF
    • Use your smartphone to take a picture of the source
      • If needed/wanted, use OCR software to extract text from your PDF or image. Here is a free option:
  • Drag and drop your picture or PDF into your Mendeley library
  • Complete the citation information in the details panel
    • If needed/wanted, attached the OCR file (needs to be in PDF format) to your newly generated citation

What is the Citation Plugin?
